As the days go by
I look back on my life
I see the past drift away
Filled with joys and strife
Events that made me happy
Some that caused me grief
I’m like an ever-aging tree
Saddened by a fallen leaf
But as Winter turns to Spring
My smile finds new reason
New hope for the world
New compassion in the season
Life has taught me
A lot about love
Where it comes from
And all it speaks of
I used to write more
Reading also caught my eye
As I get older
Not as easy but I try
My body slowing down
Thoughts linger long and lean
I wonder of my final breath
When it comes and what it means
The life I lived
The man I strived to be
The pride in my name
The changes in me

Reflecting on one's life and what it has been. These are thoughts that become more common as one grows older. Very nicely written

A lyrical write AP and very much enjoyed too. I believe as we age, many look back and reflect on their journey. Taking stock so to speak. Nicely rhymed stanzas. All best wishes.
Thanks Cassie. Glad you like it. Best wishes to you as well. 😊👍
We all change in life AP but each day we learn something new gives us a better way to go forward.
Andy
That it does Andy. Thanks. 😁
Good write AP. My life's got worse since KP, and that's a fact! lol.
Well Orch, you could always trade her in for a newer model. 😁
I have to say, AP, this is one of your best yet. Absolutely loved it. The way it flowed, the theme, all of it, just brilliant.
Thank you so much Tom. I don't write and read like I used to, but when something really gets my attention and won't let go I always end up here with it. Thanks for the compliment. 😁👍
Superb work.
Thanks Thomas. 😊
