Walking By My River Sonnet.

Goldfinch60

By gentle waters where the willows weep,

I wandered slow, beneath the evening haze.

My River whispering secrets, low and deep,

As twilight wove its soft, enshrouding maze.

The moon, a silver sentinel on high,

Adorned the path with beams of tender light.

Reflections danced like stars within the sky,

A mirror to the soul in tranquil night.

Beneath the boughs, a quiet peace I found,

Where memories and dreams entwined with grace.

My River sang a song without a sound,

Its current's rhythm matched my heart’s own pace.

In nature's arms, I felt the world composed,

Where love, time and My River's flow reposed.

How very beautiful and rendered to effect so charmingly as if to weave a fragile web which catches the soul, taking it off on fairy wings to a place beyond here. Delicately poignant with excellent imagery, I love it! Thank you for sharing!

Good write Gold. Not by gentle floods walked, and had to turn back, as I did? Doh! I know some Bereavement Support Groups are named 'Green Pastures' (from Psalm 23).

Thank you Orchi, The floods have subsided now.

I confess Dear Andy, I am not completely knowldegeable of the sonnett, but my ignorance does not prevent me from appreciating the beauty and grace of this piece. It's sentiment flows as sweetly as your river, its imagery breathtaking. Thank you for sharing this amazing experience, as I sit here on a very cold wintery morning.

It does not matter whether we understand the methods of writing, if the words bring feelings to you that is what matters. Thank you for your wonderful words.
