arqios

Notice of absence from arqios
๐Ÿ•Š ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

In fragments, I find you,
piece by piece,
each shard a story,
a glimpse through the cracks.

Moments drift,
unanchored,
and I catch only slivers,
glints of who you are.

Splinters of knowing,
scatter through my mind,
I gather them,
building an incomplete you.

I've fallen to pieces, I'm all in a heap! heehee.

into hundreds of hymns as well! ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

Great poem. Like the shards metaphor. The shards can be precious.

As to interactions, an air of mystery is far better. You will never build a complete picture of someone through their writing. Poets I have met are often very different from the way their muse works. Enjoyed the read.

      • arqios

So true Cassie, that is another factor to consider. And for sure, some more mysterious than others; all sorts. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

Super descriptive write - I found myself reading it aloud and well worthy of another read

        • arqios

Oh, nice Michael... hope you do press that record button to save an audio of the reading! That would be truly tremendous๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

Wonderfully worded the means by which we gain knowledge, learn and know things and people. Bib by bit assembling the puzzle that lays before us.

Thank you for getting in early. Hope you are having a good Sunday! Yes, puzzle piecesโ€ฆ I believe Microsoft employed that imagery a couple of decades backโ€ฆ โ€œwhere are you going today?โ€ Was its boot up screen messageโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ•Š

I'm sure we can truly know anyone. It can be a difficult sea to navigate. This poem made me think. Excellent

It is quite a journey for sureโ€ฆ And with 8B in the planet and increasing! there are so many possibilities, minus of course the daily toll that is natural and/or belligerently human. But thatโ€™s a spin off topic to thisโ€ฆ thanks kindly ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ•Š

A delicate and haunting poem written with great feeling. I love the first line especially.

Out of the mists an encounter of soulsโ€ฆ thanks for lauding that first line. You are much appreciated ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ•Š

Hmm. But that was the reason for my eager attempt to collect the complete writings of various poets and poetesses of yore whom I dearly loved and adored, and likewise the cause for my detesting fiction since it left reality so far behind via smoke and mirrors that I failed to see who was writing. It's also the reason why I dearly love Shakespeare. But enough of me. Beautifully rendered with nigh exquisite imagery and a tantalizing poignancy. Thank you for sharing.

                • arqios

I absolutely abhorred Shakespeare, for many a (valid) reason and avoided him as much as I could. But earning a literature degree meant I had to sit/stand across him face to face for several semesters and realised the folly of my youth and embraced his place in the literary world. I guess I really wanted to crown him myself and not follow the crowd blindly about how good he was and all that. In the end I realised it wasnโ€™t him I detested but all the trumpeting and all the โ€˜trumpeteersโ€™ and groupers that surrounded the โ€œrealโ€ him. I had to take ownership and not some hand me down interpretation of the fellowโ€ฆ but thatโ€™s just me.

Under the circumstances this is so understandable and relatable too ๐Ÿ‘

I understand this. With me itโ€™s books. Some books I know the Stories, others I forget what they were about . Stephen Fry mentions it in his Autobiography, so itโ€™s not just me.
                    Your Poem said it well.

                    • arqios

Yes Kevin! Even with books it seems to be so. Thanks ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ•Š

Lovely and touching, more somber than sad. Nice work.

                      • arqios

Yeah, trying not to be maudlin or overly sadโ€ฆ not the easiest trick. But here we are. Thanks mate ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ•Š
