No2 from JANUARY WRITES
When I asked ‘Will you marry me?’
‘No’ said she
‘for all the tea in China your wife I’ll not be’.
‘twas a strange reply it seemed to me’
for there is no ‘T’ in China
but there is a very big ‘C’

Good write M. lol. Miss Berles have tea or coffee?
She drinks water flavoured with syllable compound.
I see or rather C or is it sea. Another of your most marvelous worded poems with word play. You have made me smile again and that always deserves a fave.
You're too kind - thanks muchloads..
I love the mindset of the poetic persona here! 👍🏻🙏🏻🕊
My children think I'm eccentric - they could be right!
So witty and much enjoyed. You must be an optimist. Loved the word play. Have a great day.
Thanks Cassie x

Hahaha. Leaned on the precise spelling when the classic phrase came to bear, and now we'll mull how on earth to dredge that letter from the classic term for the vessel holding the same. Too fun. Thank you for sharing.
Language cn have some amazing connotations Michael.
