I confided in you
And you answered me
I heard you say
What I needed to hear
I am as I am
Opposed to deceitful ways
Hard as it may be
I try to do as you say
To let go of others wrong doings
Forever a work in progress
A student of compassion
Ever learning, ever caring
To give as you ask of me
And when you speak
Rest assured
I’m listening

Pledges we make so easy to break. This one seems sincere. Wonderfully worded it bares the soul
Thank you soren. I've been doing some soul searching lately and trying to talk to Jesus which I don't normally do. But it feels right to do it. š
I too am a listener AP and have helped many people just by listening.

Some things need to be said, and some things need to be listened to. A two-way conversation is two open minds. Thanks Andy. šš
One who was disgustingly rich - dead now, so he couldn't 'take it with him' - said 'The meek may inherit the earth, but not its mineral rights'. He's not inheriting anything now. Doh! Only meek ones like you, expressed in this poem. š
Thanks Orchi. Sort of like you inheriting KP, eh? š
Yes, boo hoo! lol.
Love it - the art of listening is lost to many - this needs to be widely read in troubkled world.
Thanks for reading and commenting Michael. š
An important tool in life is to know when tomspeak.and the other is when to listen. Beautiful Dear A.P š¹
68 years has proved this to me very well Teddy. Thank you for reading and the complement. š¹š
This feels like it came straight from the heart and has a truly nice feel about it my friend .. Neville š
Thanks N, I'm not overly religious, but I do believe in God, Jesus and Heaven. And I'm not used to talking to God or Jesus, but this is just me trying to reach out and talk to him. š
