When she took to the veil I didn’t chastise her
I tried to be friendly, I tried to advise her
but she persisted
and once enlisted
she was given the name of Nun The Wiser.

A fun limerick that leaves me in doubt if it is a backhanded comment about the author. Love your limericks
It probably is - thanks sorenbarratt.
Hahaha, you're too downright clever! What a gas in the name of the freighted day. Delightfully rendered with awesome imagery and a haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.

A most succinct commentary on the alleged spiritual superiority of the religious over a heathen such as meself⦠also a good larf, Michael.
Essence of tranquility and potential pleasure, your picture.
Aw thanks for both comments DD
Fun words Michael.
Andy
Thanks Andy

Thanks Thomas - some may argue its not a true limerick as it isn't anapestic but so what!
