History according to the administration

sorenbarrett

Lately the Trump administration has been redacting diversity
Eliminating indigenous, black and women's history from k-1 to university
Shortly books will say that America discovered Europe
That the president invented fire, electricity, cars and maple syrup

He deported a professional football player, because he had too many tattoos
What ever he doesn't like he calls fake news
He cut lots of Federal jobs that he said weren't needed
Pardoned his friends, that the Capital stampeded

He wants to put his face in stone on Mt. Rushmore
To all those that speak Spanish he wants to close the door
He bought one of those Tesla trucks with public money
Then eliminated funding for electric cars, isn't that funny

Canada he wants to make the fifty first state
He wants the Panama Canal back, so he won't have to pay freight
Greenland he wants to annex, he said it's militarily wise
He's trying to change the constitution to stay in office till he dies

Oh my God there is a lunatic in the White House. Probably not the first time. I mean Nixon abd bush were a whackjobs. I am certain that Trump will be assassinated so no need to worry. An impoertant poem.Made me aware

              • sorenbarrett

So right David the more I study past presidents the more I find I don't like. Can't say there has been one that wasn't a bastard in some way. I guess that's what it takes to be the top dog. Washington, Lincoln, Roosevelt and don't even mention Jackson all Hitler's in their own ways. Thanks so much for the read and words of support.

                  • Tristan Robert Lange

All of that and more! Damn. One cannot make it up, but it is happening real time and...truthfully...I fear that is all just the tip of the iceberg. What's going on that we aren't aware of? That question has always existed, but now it is juiced up on steroids. Poignant, powerful, observational, and direct. Exactly what a poem of this caliber ought to be. Well done, my friend! πŸ™πŸ¦β€β¬›πŸ–€

                    • sorenbarrett

Thanks Tristan for the read, I am apolitical but I can not pass up the opportunity to poke fun at a person that opens themselves to being such a buffoon. It is the man not what he stands for that I find funny and tragic that such a person would hold that kind of power. Tragedy and humor like sweet and sour make for a delicious dish.

                      • Tristan Robert Lange

I certainly hear and respect that, for sure. And yes, he opens himself up even to the most apolitical of us. As for me, I am nonpartisan. I don\'t believe in either party or what they\'re selling...which is difficult when we are consistently stuck in a two party system. That said, I am not apolitical because I feel the need to at least write and speak out against the insanity I am seeing. And it is insanity for sure. So, I think I mostly find myself where you are, if that is what you mean by apolitical. And, I certainly won't waste my energy making everything I write about to be regarding that baffoon and his white-washed house of wax puppets...but sometimes it is just unavoidable and necessary! πŸ˜‚ Anywho, you are most welcome, and again, well done my friend. This poem is spot on!

This is so true. It's worrying but so accurate. It would be good to reach a wider audience.
