575s and 57577s (2)

Michael Edwards

575s and 57577s (2)

The sun, sea and sand

Somnolent basking bodies

risking well being.

Proximity of events

whistles shouts and cries

a place of pleasure

a hive of activity

invading my solitude.

Once entertaining

novel and wondrous joys

now thought archaic.

Sounds to me you were the only one on a beach and then you were surrounded. đŸ¤Ŗ Ah that peace would certainly be broken with beach balls and tennis and screams of joy for the ones who love all that. LoL ⛹ī¸ brilliant dear Michael, great to see you. 🌹I hope you took your socks off and those beach sandals đŸ¤Ŗ

Wonderous words! They strike true and ring with the wisdom of age. This may be taken many ways but to me is speaks of age's changes. A wonderful poem that touches me and is a fave

You sum it up well = with the dangers of exposure in a warming world are beach holidays now becoming a thing of the past, do the younger pleasure seeking generations ignore the warnings and still invade our beaches?

Nothing wrong with some good, ol' fashioned, archaic fun! Jousting anyone? đŸ¤Ŗ A wonderful poem, my friend. I was waiting the second of these and it has delivered. Well done, Michael! 🌹👏

Hope you are rapidly healing so you can keep us delighted a long long time! Yes, us old fogeys like things like books and stillness and bumblebees visiting the roses. And thoughtful little poems.

everything has a time and place - what we love in childhood may be what we least like as a grown up - the means of entertainment definitely changes as one grows up
