Notice of absence from Tom Dylan
Sorry if there is a delay in responses. Sometimes life gets in the way. As John Lennon said, life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.
Sorry if there is a delay in responses. Sometimes life gets in the way. As John Lennon said, life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.
I ask if I can borrow a pound
for the parking meter outside
you say no and roll your eyes
making it clear you’d rather die.
I thought that we were good mates,
that we were the best of friends,
I also thought friends help each other,
I’m sorry if that idea offends.
Friends are there for each other,
friends stand side by side,
If I could help you out I would,
you’d never be denied.
Good friends help each other out,
and you know I’d do the same,
but when I ask the smallest favour,
you make me feel so ashamed.
I ask a favour and rest assured
you would always be paid back double,
I think I must have misunderstood
when you said nothing is too much trouble.

Words and actions not always the same. A facade friend just for appearances or a faux friend for decoration. Lovely
Thanks so much for your comments, Soren. Really appreciated as always.
You are most welcome
Tom, this is quietly powerful...the denied pound turning into a mirror of friendshipβs imbalance. Honest, wounded, and clear. πΉπ€ππ―οΈπ¦ββ¬ Whatever is pulling you away the next couple of weeks, will miss you mate! See you on the other side!
Thanks a lot, mate. Really appreciate your comments. π
Hope your fortnight goes well, Tom. Will be here at the βside when you get back. πππ»
Thanks so much, mate. And the Side.. like it! I usually call it MPS but yeah, the Side has a ring to it. See you in a fortnight, my friend.
I would have helped you Tom.
Andy
Thanks a lot, Andy. Really appreciated, mate.
I guess you remind me of my late mother's wise note that true friends are rare and few, the majority not worth the trouble we take and misery we endure. On the other hand those latter are likewise whom despise us when we ask a favour. I've been so disgusted with myself for trusting them. Beautifully rendered and charming with excellent imagery and a haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing. This pretty number should resonate with countless.
Thanks so much for your comments, Missy. Really appreciated.
I felt it was a sly tongue in cheek satirical take on friendship ( or whatever is cliamed within its ambit). Advanced apologies- I have the wonderful habit of flying off on a wrong tangent.
Yeah, very tongue in cheek. And the play on nothing being too much trouble, literally, came to me and I worked back from there. π Thanks so much for your comments.
