Emptiness where your form stood
A torn coat that once was good
A face that's lost, gone the form
Too soon left, an embrace so warm
Laugh and smile to see no more
Friendship left on a closed door
I never got to say goodbye
'Tis but farewell, a parting sigh

oh, that is so true! I used to work in floor sanding for a bit. Sometimes we had to put in wood putty, sand it down and lacquer the thing. But you could always tell that there was a hole there.
Sad write, Soren, this is when you know time is moving on, and even goodbyes get put on hold.
