A DOG FOR CHRISTMAS
My kids said they wanted a dog for Christmas
a plea which I thought was quite quirky
so I replied in tones most judicious
‘I’m sorry but you’ll have to make do with turkey’

Good write and pic M. But in some countries the menu is...... horribly.
You made me laugh Michael and that gains a fave for a poem that not only I found darkly humorous (my kind of humor) but also rhymes. In its shortness it packs a punch
