To a dad that raised and loved me with a heart immense
You where there for me always when things got intense
To a father which love seems to be his sixth sense
You were always at my aid, attention and defense
Never laid a hand on me, not once, never
I’ll appreciate all that you do for me forever
Pulled through tough times in which you did endeavor
You rubbed off on me now I’m creative and clever
I think I did get my creativeness from you
If you’d listen to what you say you’d know it too
I believe you are a father with a respectable view
You’re also an element as to how I grew
Sure I had some rough times here and there
But I’m happy now and I am fully aware
You worked to provide and had money to share
You can’t find that in all fathers, count yourself rare
The bond that I share with my mom is great
But the bond between you and I is equally straight
You taught me how to fish, string hooks and bait
And it all came through because fish we ate
You raised me well make no mistake
You’re a father most kids dream of but I’m awake
Taking me to work with you was fun and a piece of cake
And to think we still have more new memories to make
I am grateful for everything that I have ever had
Parents touch with a touch of understanding when I am mad
Knows how to handle that and even when I am sad
He is all that I could wish for I am proud to call you dad

I like this poem you've done a good job.
Wow! This is EXCELLENT! I so love this tribute to your father! Mine too! If only I could put him so elegantly as you have done yours....he loves us so much! I am not good enough ever for either Daddy or Mommy! I love this poem and the one to your mother....these are the best poems of yours, in my opinion. Thank you very much for writing and posting them.
De nada. Y gracias. Yup my father is a great man. I put them in letters and will put them under the tree on christmas eve so they don't see them until christmas morning. So now it can be my turn to surprise them 🙂
Sweet.....I love that idea! Espanol...how often do you use it? I took it in high school, but unfortunately never succeeded at learning more than enough words to get me in trouble, but at least for all the Spanish words I like to occasionally season my talk with, I do know to say, No Hablo Espanol!...Hablo Ingles!
Lol. Es genial... means it's cool. I don't really know that much sppanish. Just enough to get by. But anywho... thank you again for your comment and rating.
What a beautiful tribute to you father. He must be so proud that you feel this love for him.
