Stay

StormyDay

Yes, I know darling
There are places you have to be
Things you should be doing
And people you need to see

I know you have to go
But won't you stay
We'll take it slow
Straight on through
'Till the break of day

Stay just a minute more
Kiss me once again
Before you walk out the door
I can't help missing you
You've gotten under my skin

Yes, I know you're busy
Just trying to keep track of you
Starts making my head dizzy
Hey, but what can I do

I know you have to go
But won't you stay
We'll take it slow
Straight on through
'Till the break of day

Stay just a minute more
Kiss me once again
Before you walk out the door
I can't help missing you
You've gotten under my skin

Yes, I know why
You do the things you do
I'm proud of you too
And that's the reason why
I'l never let you see me cry

  • Comment from author about the poem: Only reason I've categorized it 18+ is because it does hint at a little sexual inuendo, but really doesn't say anything outright... So, this was when my boyfriend was always busy, and I didn't get much time with him. Yet I knew it was something he didn't have much control over. But even knowing that, it still upset me. And maybe that's selfish,(?)I know, which is why I kept it from him as much as I could.

Ya, it reminded me of some of Dido's music as well as a Sugerland(?) song. Great job! And you're right about the hint. Fascinating. Now, can we sing it too, I wonder? But call me stupid,...why won't she let him see her cry?
