The river flows fast

and then slows to a small stream

forever changing

  • Comment from author about the poem: The River's course: It flows down from a mountainside, over rocks and ledges, through rapids and white water, then it comes to the bottom, where it trickles down to a stream and empties into an ocean, estruary, delta, ect... It's just the journey of the river, much condensed.

    Couldn't understand it.

Think of the course of a river. Let's say it flows down from a mountainside, over rocks and ledges, through rapids and white water, then it comes to the bottom, where it trickles down to a stream and empties into an ocean, estruary, delta, ect... It's just the journey of the river, much condensed.

Excellently succinct, as usual, and well-penned. Quite enjoyable.
