Sick Day

Christina8

My little one is sick now,

I wish I could take it all away

My love is unending as it should be,

If I could just trade places for her today.

Lucky by far, it's nothing serious

She came down with the stomach flu

One good reason to be a stay at home mom

Is that I can be there for her when she needs me to

Now the day has past, she's feeling better

My precious one is perking up fine

I know she's thankful I was there for her

My payment? Hugs! Lots of them! All mine!

I want to kiss you for being a stay at home mom. There are probably other things calling to you that you put on hold to be there for your child. Thumbs up.

Thanks Augustus! Yes, I would like to work but I just wanted to put my kids first because they wont be kids for long. I really appreciate your kind words, they tugged at the heart!

Nowadays the hugs I get are not just from my children but also from my grandchildren - we so blessed to be loved and to love in return. This is such a touching elegant poem Christina I am not surprised it has evoked such a response.

I really appreciate your compliment, Michael! A childs hug is glorious and it means they are, in this case, happy and well. Like you say, blessed to be loved and to love in return. Well said!

                  I'm actually ill
                  At the moment
                  But it's worse
                  When it's my kids
                  Or grand kids..
                  Very good piece..

I remember calling my mother after my first child was sick (my mother has passed on) and thanking her for being there when I was sick all those times when I was a child. It's worth every minute! And those hugs are priceless! 🙂 Thanks for such a nice comment!
