- Comment from author about the poem: CALIFORNIA IS AN AWESOME STATE ! My first visit to The USA was to California ~ San Francisco (I did lose my Heart !) Los Angeles ~ San Diego and a trip over the Border (no fence !) to TIJUANA in Mexico. CALIFORNIA was bigger ~ brasher and bolder than I had ever imagined and should be the first port of call for all visitors. Historically 9/11 broke America's Heart and the two Memorials ~ on the Twin Towers Footprints ~ say it all. Water pouring into an abyss each surrounded by 1,500 Multinational Names of the 3,000 Victims of Terrorism. LA LA LAND gives one a glimpse of the Freedom of Spirit and Freedom of Opportunity that still existed in Hollywood in the late 20th C. Perhaps it is this Spirit that President Trump is referring to when he says "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN". This is why LA LA LAND has been so successful ~ it repaints "THE AMERICAN DREAM" ~ Donald Trumps ~ Mythical Great America ~ Comments welcome ~ LA Love to ALL ~ BRIAN XOX

When one arrives (the cost is getting there !) eating out etc is cheaper than the UK and petrol (gas !) is only half the price ~ BUT the Californian Cost is more than 800 miles long ! i used to me mormon (no longer am) but if you have seen those pesky missionaries knocking door to door ~ that was me. i was called to go on a mission in california. i was called to a spanish speaking mission and served in the ghettos. i learned a lot needless to say :0) la la land was a very interesting well done film. the actors did an amazing job. very nostalgic. the ending made my so sad....and yet made me ponder.....which was the point i suppose. but i naively believe that we can have all of our dreams come true. to me it's not an either/or. yet i get that the writers demonstrated what great losses many artists suffer at times to realize their lofty dreams. you write beautifully of the states....took a gander at your fusion as well. a job very well done. i love it when i learn a great deal in a few lines. thank you for sharing!
THANKS JANE ~ For a very full and encouraging response. I admire the Mormons because they are willing to live abroad and openly share their FAITH. My MUM always used to offer them Cherry Pie and milk or orange juice because she knew they didn't drink Tea or Coffee ! Pleased you know California ~ pleased you enjoyed LALA LAND it hilited the sacrifices we all have to make to realise our DRAMS ! In the hyper market in San Diego 2/3 of people were checking out in Spanish. Are you going to add a STATE to the Fusion ? Yours BRIAN
i actually have written an entire poem about my home state ~ utah.....so i went to add a stanza from my poem.....but alas, never having done an infusion, i gave it pause. i will revisit it my friend :0)
