THE SIGHTS INSIDE THE CAVE ARE ~ OUT OF THIS WORLD
MAMMOUTH CAVE KENTUCKY ~ Largest in the World
ALMOST 400 miles of accessible passage ways
MORE are being discovered (excavated) each year
MAMMOUTH BONES have been discovered in the cave
OVER two million Visitors each year ~ major attraction
UPPER SANDSTONE layer and underlying LIMESTONE
THERE ARE thousands of Stalactites and Stalagmites ~ Some
HAVE joined together forming very majestic Columns !
CAVITIES & TUNNELS are formed in the Limestone
AS WATER containing CALCIUM HYDROGEN CARBONATE ~ drips
VISIBLY change to CALCIUM CARBONATE forming STALACTITES
ENDANGERED Blind Albino Cave Shrimp ~ lives in the CAVE
Thanks for visiting ~ comments welcome ~ Love Caving ! BRIAN

- Comment from author about the poem: I love Caving (Potholing) and it can be quite claustrophobic ! Inside the cave of course is pitch black so you always need artificial lighting. Derbyshire ~ in England has an impressive series of caves and they have walkways and lighting or Visitors ~ there is even a boat trip. They also contain a unique GEMSTONE ~ BLUEJOHN which is banded FLUORITE. The cave systems in the USA are much bigger than the UK ~ please visit if you get an opportunity. Has got to be
One of the most
Wonderful sights
On earth...
Brilliant Brian...
Thank you...
Thank you FRIEND ~ I am always amazed at the sublime beauty of the World's Cave Systems ~ hidden away for thousands of years and only revealed by the skill and courage of intrepid SPELEOLOGISTS ! BRIAN
Stand-stone is layered with marginal imagination of reality. More things are discovered every year. This attracts millions of visitors. Scientific approach of expression amazes mind of reader. This carries nice information. Very wisely penned poem is shared.
Thanks you PINTU for your very encouraging comments ~ Yours BRIAN
Very educational and colorful. I do not think I would like that kind of excitement, the closed-in feeling, that is. But, you make it appealing!
Thanks HONEY ~ MAMMOUTH is much bigger than most caves ~ soit's lass claustrophobic and like being in a cathedral ! It is very appealing ~ especially when a Choir sings and it echoes ~ Hugs BRIAN
Very beautiful and educational. I have never explored caves, I guess I'm a bit claustrophobic. But you paint a wonderful picture with your words and also combined with the picture, you have a great piece! Hugs-Christina
THANKS CHRIS ~ for an encouraging comment ! The caves in the UK are tiny by comparison so they are less daunting. It always strengthens my Faith to think that the underground wonders are all part of God's creation ~ hidden deep underground and waiting to be discovered ~ AMEN Hugs for your too ~ BRIAN
wow ~ it sounds absolutely amazing....now i have a hunkering to go to kentucky again!
Thanks JANE ~ love your comments because they are always positive and optimistic ~ You follow your "hunker" Sweetheart and get across to Kentucky again and toast me in "cold sweet tea" so refreshing ~ Hugs BRIAN
