TRUMPS VERY FOREIGN ~ FOREIGN POLICY ~ A SONNET LAMENT

BRIAN & ANGELA

If you come from IRAQ ~ watch your back

If you're from IRAN ~ get out while you can

SOMALIS are not wanted ~ No visas granted

You can't come in again ~ if you're from the YEMEN

No Child Woman or Man ~ welcome from the SUDAN

Refugee SYRIANS too ~ they are all taboo !

Seems like the MUSLIMS have not yet been forgiven

For the Twin Towers massacre on NINE-ELEVEN

The sign on the Statue of Liberty's puzzlin'

It says all are welcome ~ BUT NOT ~ if you're MUSLIM

I'll be OK ~ 'cos I'm from the UK

But will it be a dump ~ now it's ruled by TRUMP ?

I love every State ~ and HAWAII is great

But will I still want to go if  TRUMP BARS ~ FARAH MO ??

Thanks for reading ~ What do you think ~ Yours BRIAN

MO FARAH ~ The World's greatest Middle Distance Runner

May be barred from living & training in the USA 'cos he's A SOMALI !

This poem is presented as a SONNET LAMENT ~ 14 lines internal rhyming

  • Comment from author about the poem: PRESIDENT TRUMP'S immediate action against MUSLIMS entering the US for 90 days and his embargo on the six Countries ~ mentioned in my poem ~ has caused Worldwide protest. I visited GROUND ZERO in 2002 and the very stark monuments last year ~ and I can understand that the whole Nation is still angry and wants to prevent it happening again. BUT ~ Not all MEXICANS are BANDITOS ~ so why build a WALL ~ and only a tiny minority of MUSLIMS are ISIS Terrorists ~ so why a blanket ban. TRUMP'S Gung Ho actions make a mockery of the Universal Welcome engraved on the STATUE of LIBERTY ! HILLARY may have had lots of baggage but she was not a MEGALOMANIAC ! Comments welcome BRIAN (UK).

Hello Brian, I just last night spoke with my mother about The Statue Of Liberty, because it's a tremendous change from what she represents and a sadness came over me. I saw a meme of the SofL with her hands to her face weeping a few weeks ago, now it would seem so fitting under these circumstances. Anywho, definitely feeling your poem. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. A few from the outside looking in, is sometimes more clear.

Thanks COREY we're not the 51st State (yet) so i don't have to fear Trumps "G MEN" and I can say what some Americans might be scared too ! Yes TRUMP has blinfolded The S O L to spare her blushes. Thanks for your comment ~ BRIAN

Brian I feel your pain. I worked for one of the best doctors ever and he is syrian. . Now Canada is running commercials saying they will take our refugees. What about Saudi Arabia where the hijackers mostly came from? I'm sad for our country. Hugs

Thanks CHRIS a lovely comment as usual ! What happened to the CHECKS & BALANCES which are in the Constitution to prevent extremism ? When SALLY YATES (US Attorney General) questioned the ban on MUSLIMS she was SACKED and replaced by a TRUMPMAN ! Shades of a Dictatorship ! I posted this poem on behalf of all Americans because TRUMP knows where you LIVE ! The sad thing to me is that 50% of Americans agree with TRUMPS hard line on MUSLIM COUNTRIES. I guess your lovely Syrian Doctor was a MUSLIM ! Thanks for caring ~ Transatlantic Hugs ~ BRIAN

Looking in (to the USA) from the outside it seems as if things have gone way off the scale and your super write is so spot on Brian

WELL MICHAEL ~ Because of the Special Relationship ~ which Theresa did her best to strengthen ~ we are involved with USA Foreign Policy but not bound to it. Obama's attitude was be vigilant baout ISIS an other extreme Muslim Groups but don't rattle the chains. Thanks for your comment ! Yours BRIAN

We are in a very sad and uncertain era in U.S. History. Not the first time, obviously, that we've been on the wrong side of history; however, it seems that great progress has been halted and reversed. This weekend brought utterly devastating news and I think many, myself included, fear what's still to come. Thank you for expressing what a lot of us are feeling!

Thanks for your comment ! I am a student of the History of the USA and it seems to me Mister T is being a bit too draconian ~ too early in his First Term. Because OBAMA was an appeaser I feel TRUMP wanted to take a very hard line ~ whether it was needed or not ! Hillary would have followed OBAMA's tactics of "softly softly catchee monkey". However I don't think the USA will ever forgive or forget 9/11 and this will always be a thorn in the EXECUTIVES flesh. Thanks for your response. I don't think an American would have had the temerity (or even the opportunity ?) to write this poem against their Democratically Elected President ! Yours BRIAN.

Trump is being a piece of crap. Trying to turn the world against us. Wouldn't doubt it if he started WW3. Great write

THANKS TONY # Pleased you liked ~ knew you would ! Compared to MISTER T ~ Hillary would have been an ANGELIC PRESIDENT ! Actually PENCE is a much better Man ~ Spiritually ~ so if anything happens to TRUMP ~ God has a GOOD MAN in the shadows to take over. W are all praying "GOD Bless America" you need it ! BRIAN

Welcome, Trump had no bussness running in the first place, but that's just my opinion

                • janetaylor

i think perchance trump is a wake up call to get it through our heads once and for all that life is about LOVE and not hate. i am no longer mormon, but served a mormon mission only to those who spoke spanish in california. i can't imagine how they now must feel. perhaps we shall build bridges and not walls.

THANKS JANE ~ Pleased you liked the photo ! It made me cry when I read it because I always felt so welcome wherever I traveled in the USA. I love the Mexicans and have been to Mexico a few times (Rich & Poor areas) lovely people. They keep the American economy stable and do lots of jobs Americans don't want to do ! I agree with the wake up call and maybe a lot of xenophobic Americans got the President thy deserved ! Praise GOD He is still on the throne and not TRUMP ! Thanks for your comments ~ Hugs ~ BRIAN

Awww this poem makes me sad as it's true.....he is president and I really hope he rethinks his mouth...words and actions. I don't want him to fail the people, there's no point in wanting him to fail. Here in Scotland we have our own issues but Trumps one of a kind

i think he is doing a great job trying to rid america from the evil it is in and has become, the immigrants must be vented, read your bible, this is a holy war..one million babies aborted each year, this is murder , God is tired of it !
