Have you ever felt regret?
A painful, stinging, ugly emotion
Just a useless biting pain in the heart
There is no magic fix or potion
Regret is an unhealthy poison
that none of us want or need
It's something that needs to be
plucked from our minds like a weed
If we harbor regret for things
we've done before
It minimizes our happiness
even more
So forgive yourself for
what's done in the past
And love yourself enough
to do it ~ and fast!

Thanks CHRIS for a very thought provoking Poem. "O yes regrets ~ I've had a few ~ but then again too few to mention ~ And once in a while along the way ~ Love's been good to ME" I like that Frank Sinatra song because it has a touch of optimism where REGRETS are concerned. We all get dealt a bad hand from time to time (as you know) BUT if our pluses outweigh our minuses then we tend to have fewer and less intense regrets. So (because of who I am) I empathise with your prognosis as expressed in the final stanza "Forgive yourself ~ Love yourself ~ and do it FAST ~ AMEN" Great poem ~ thanks for caring ~ love your muse !
