Love's Due.

Fay Slimm.

Love's Due.

Love, blind to weakness,
sees what it chooses
but shadows cast images
and joy sits unused.

Doubt born of judgement
frowns at trust's view
and ends tender harmony
deflecting love's due.

We, what we are, attract
discordant tunes
but love's baton composes
more than just music.

Love is more than instant infatuation - it has to be worked at to keep it fresh - luckily mine after 53 years of marriage is as strong as ever - and I love the poem too.

Love is very complicated for no rhyme or rhythm. Well done.

Love the rhythm in this elegant "free verse" poem FAY. It tells us exactly what's in the title (on the tin !) LOVE's DUE ! Love the visual ~ it complements a pensive ode ! Yours B

Love, music, and song, together they bring hope or misery, depending on your state of mind at the time.Love as Conductor can be off-tempo sometimes. Two people meet and do not fall in love, but if they were to meet for the first time at some other instant, would they be lovers.? Perhaps, such is fate, such is Love's timing. People change over time,. Another place, another time, Love in Bloom? So, Fay, take up the baton and whip up a symphony Loved your poem. - Phil A.

Love chooses wonderfully love and love becomes blind with many weaknesses. Shadows of love casts wonderful judgement. Tender harmony is deflected. Love composes wonderful song more than music. This is very meaningful and interesting poem shared here.
