Great poem Brian. I've eaten pizzas in Italy many times as part of an Italian meal where it is just one small course in an overall meal (Pasta, antipasta meat etc) . BUT I really don't understand the western obsession of having it as a complete meal on its own. When I hear someone saying 'lets go out for a pizza' I think: 'oh no how could they eat a meal which consists of mouthful after mouthful of the same thing with nothing other than a bit of wilted salad to accompany it.

A slice is great as a quick snack but much as I enjoy a slice of pizza, if I go out for a meal I want a proper balanced meal although not many restaurants serve balanced healthy option meals unless you pay through the nose. At least pizzas have moved on a bit from the days of dehydrated tomatoes on a bed of cardboard!

THANKS MICHAEL ~ For a very full an apposite comment on PIZZA ! Yes I agree in essence PIZZA is a fast food snack (antipasti etc) but not a complete \"prmo or segundo piatti\" ~ You can blame DOMINOS for that. Unfortunately \"Eating Out\" in the UK and the USA has been hijacked by McDonalds (burgers) KFC and Pizzerias. You can get a balanced meal in the UK but we are talking at least £30 per head ! Thanks for caring BRIAN. You might like to add an artist to me new FUSION and I will add a piece of appropriate ART ~ OK

Now I am hungry again and I have just had my breakfast!

THANKS GF ~ The very word PIZZA stimulates the gastric juices that is why the Italians chose it ! Yours BRIAN. You might like to add an artit to my new Fusion ~ Thanks B

TUNA on a pizza?! Of course I think the same thing as anchovies. We have a great pizza place in our little town that stacks toppings to the hilt! Love your poem but I'll have to agree to disagree on toppings. Though I would love nothing more than to go to Italy and have the real thing! Hugs-Christina

Thanks CHRIS I agree ~ FISH 'n PIZZA is not a good combo. One the 500 advantages of living in the UK is the fact that we can fly and have half~board for week in any European Capital (Rome ~ Paris ~ Madrid etc) for about $500 and it only takes about 3 hours ! A PIZZA in Napoli tastes like a PIZZA ! Big Hugs ~ BRIAN

the best pizza is in New York City, say what you will....I can't hear you! WW

          • BRIAN & ANGELA

Elsewhere WILLY ~ I have stated that in NEW YORK NY to cater for its Global Diversity Population ~ You can sample the food of the whole World. 2.8 million ITALIANS live in NY STATE ~ 14.4 % of the population ~ many of them run Pizzerias ~ That is why NY Pizza is as good as in Naples Italy. I've eaten Pizza in both ~ so I know ~ OK ~ BRIAN

Awesome poem. Though the pizzas I like is just cheese or pepperoni. I'm dull. 😂😂 Keep writing I love your poems. Also anything but cheese, pepperoni, sauce & crust is disgusting. Though that's just my opinion.

Thanks HONEY for your kind comments ! Yes PEPPERONI was created to be a PIZZA topping ~ YUMMY ! Yours BRIAN (UK)

Like the deep dish and thin crust, myself. Nothing greasy on top, though. Lots of Mozzarella and grated Romano.

              • BRIAN & ANGELA

Thanks HONEY ~ Deep dish ~ more topping ~ Its a great way to enjoy cheese and cheese is very healthy. I love a whole Quatro Formaggi ~ but as you say Mozzarella and Romano is a great combo. You need plenty of Chianti (Wine in a basket !) to wash it all down. Hugs BRIAN

Love anchovies. My favorite are square pan home made. Enjoyed.
