DAWN WAITS

Michael Edwards

DAWN WAITS

It is love,

it is her,

they are there,

it is lit,

the key fits,

and dawn waits.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Bet you didn't expect this. This is in answer to the last questions posed in each stanza in the poem I published yesterday - I wrote this as a stand-alone in 6 by 3 format. Hope you like it. Plus another painting of course.

    Beautiful ending.

Good art as well. Does the car have its wheels on the path?

  • Michael Edwards

thanks goldfinch and yes its wheels are on the path - the road is quite narrow. Interestingly this is my road in the village and my property is set back behind the cottages - it is private in front of my property and there is also a paved section which belongs to me. However when they had a bit of a clampdown on pavement parking a few years back I had a note on my windscreen saying I was illegally parked and I had great pleasure in telling the authorities (armed wit h a copy of the deeds) that it was they who had acted illegally be entering into a private cul-de-sac.

  • BRIAN & ANGELA

GREAT EXPECTATIONS MICHAEL ~ In my experience the last lines of verses in any poem are always the BEST. You have just proved it ! BRIAN ~ Love the picture so "English Country Lane !"

  • Michael Edwards

Cheers Brian - yes it's my lane although I live behind the cottages to the left. Must agree about the last line - I often have one in mind even before I start scribing.
