Take Out The Trash

WriteBeLight

Trash just never,

Goes away.

Have to deal with it,

Every day.

Sometimes a little,

Sometimes a lot.

Sometimes smelly,

Sometimes not.

Empty eggshells,

In their carton.

I forgot to empty it,

I beg your pardon.

Bought those bags,

Scented smell.

Trash still stinks,

I can tell.

Coffee grinds,

Old leftovers.

Lift the bag,

Over my shoulder.

Out the door,

Into the cold.

Wash out the barrel,

Or else, there’s mold.

The barrel’s full,

Take it to the dump.

Don’t look at me that way!

Don’t be a grump!

Share the work,

Every day,

Keep the place clean,

It’s the only way.

Think of the future,

Recycle tin, paper.

Glass and plastic,

Think of Mother Nature.

Nice one - do you have the same type of collections as here in the UK - two weekly cycle - one week its the black bin with all non-recoverable waste, the next week green bin with garden refuse and also blue bin for recyclables (paper plastic, metal etc) although it does vary a bit depending on which authority you come under.

I have to bring the rubbish to the transfer station here in my town. And, they have the recycle bins there. So, try to do it as soon as the barrels are full. Keeping the wildlife out of the trash is a constant task. Always feels great when that chore is done. Thanks Michael.

Sounds a bit of a chore - all we have to do is remember to put the bins outside our property on collections day and the Council does the rest.

Thanks for caring HONEY ! Always remember when you see on (sanitized) TV the child rag pickers on rubbish tips in India and elsewhere ~ always remember that our rubbish is their gold ~ RECYCLE & DONATE ~ Sanitized Hugs ~ BRIAN

I do think of the less fortunate and donate coats, clothes, shoes, etc. Thanks for the sanitized hugs 🙂

The grinding reality of everyday life. Nicely done

              • WriteBeLight

Thanks Garry! Summertime I put mothballs in the bins to keep the flies out. Trash is a dirty subject. 🙂 I feel better when it is taken to the dump!

Like Michael we get our rubbish bins collected but in our case black for non recoverable and green for recyclable, the garden waste I have to take to the waste tip for recycling - it gives me and my wife a trip out as we will always end up with coffee somewhere. I really know how to spoil her!

That is very nice of you Goldfinch! We have a compose pile here, which helps a lot with the garden. We have so many fast-food places here. They should try not using styrofoam. That can help.
