Season Of Respite

WriteBeLight

It’s sunny and,

Fifty degrees.

I see it now,

Winter’s at ease.

The warmer weather,

Will fix the pain.

My utility bill,

Should begin to wane.

I will open the windows,

Let the fresh air in.

And, a new regimen,

I will begin.

Get up and out,

Go for a walk.

See the local creatures,

Birds and hawks.

To easier days,

I look forward.

Respite from the harsh,

Now, fresh and toward.

Time to plant and grow,

Foods and flowers.

Take advantage of,

The day’s long hours.

From inside, now out,

Into the fresh air.

Waste not, these times,

Of this, take great care.

It's been great over here in the UK - we've had blue skies and reasonably warm weather for many days now. the garden is looking a picture (we love our gardens in the UK and spend hours looking after them - well some of us do! ) Great poem full of merryloads.

Thank Michael. I just returned from my trip that I mentioned and posted in an earlier poem. I saw and felt the wrath of Mother Nature in my flights to and from my destination. This poem makes me feel great about how it was like a big broom that swept away the cold and rainy weather. But, it is tough when you experience it in turbulence. Thanks for the comment. I love a well-maintained garden. So beautiful, as I am sure your garden is. 🙂

Thanks - might break with tradition and post a photo of it with next poem.

Thank God, I do believe it has broken. I sense Spring in the air. Time to open the garden shed and to get to work. A wonderful poem about the relief one feels in Springtime, at least in these parts. -
