ARRIVAL

Michael Edwards

ARRIVAL

Algae stained, a plastic drinks cup

trapped beneath the briars branches,

where hollowed stems of  hogweed  standing,

signify a summer gone.

Feathery clouds of flowering blackthorn,

hover over roadside hedges,

winter brown but peppered now

with shoots emerging yellow green.

Hidden soon by upward pushing

early growth in verges freckled

with the hues of spring flowers blooming

seasoning the seasons palette.

Thanks for this poetic look at the season's push toward more colourful outside - a look too at at inside bit of talented palette. Love the sculptured fish Michael.

MERCI MICHAEL ~I love all 3D art especially that which seeks to mirror nature ! The best one in my opinion is any model of the DNA double helix. Rosalind Franklin (who did the X-ray crystallographic on DNA) said ~ when she saw Crick & Watson's structure (molecular model) "It is too too beautiful ~ not to be correct !" Beauty is in the eye of the beholder ! We made a model from LEGO which had the advantage that the two anti-parallel helical chains were easily separated for replication and also the formation of messenger RNA which is the blueprint to synthesise PROTEIN. There is more Art in Science than this World dreams of ! DISCUSS ~ BRIAN

SPRING MICHAEL ~ Is the FIRST SEASON and always will be # that uis why it is so so important. Someone took a photograph everyday of a Garden during SPRING (92 DAYS) He was amazed how much the pictures changed each day ~ no other Season is like this ~ change but no decay ~ just new life. Spring is the most Spiritual Month which is why the Christian Church chose SPRING to celebrate EASTER as a movable feast. The Council of Nicea (325 BC) decreed that EASTER DAY (Ressurection) should be on a SUNDAY and the CRUCIFIXION on the preceeding FRIDAY ~ GOOD FRIDAY ! So Spring is very sacred ! DISCUSS ~ BRIAN
