Country Love to All ~ BRIAN XOX
"What is life to me without thee?"
Those words sail from her soul,
From her soul and into my heart.
This Lady of Song, taken from us,
Taken from us in her prime.
Kathleen's wonderful voice is still there,
Still there sailing through the ether,
Sailing forever.
"Ewig, - Ewig, - Ewig"

Kathleen Ferrier, English Contralto, 1912 -1953.
"Ewig, Ewig, Ewig" are the last three words of Mahler's 'Das Lied von der Erde' meaning 'Forever'.
MARIA CALLAS
Many claimed her voice was flawed.
no varnished velvet tones were hers,
Yet any role her voice commanded
with limitations overridden
and burning sense of high emotion,
she sang with perfect imperfection.
It was always good news
When this Lady sang the blues
From Harlem to Carnegie Hall
She was on top from jazz to pop
Billie could sing it all
But it was no use with drug abuse
the Lady in Satan took a fall
Billie Holiday AKA Eleanora Fagan 1915~1959
Not one, but many, I have in mind.
Joni, Jackson, James are fine.
Willy, Waylon, Johnny and others,
I'd add myself, if I had my druthers.

- Comment from author about the poem: MY DAD loves Country Music ~ He even took me to the Grand Old Opry in Nashville Tennessee when i was still a Teenager to The Kris Kristopherson Memorial concert for Johnny Cash in 2003 ~ awesome. My Dad had a lot of Jim Reeves LPS and I was captivated by the Chet Atkins arrangements (The Nashville Sound) for RCA Victor and the harmony of the Backing Groups ~ The Jordanaires and the Anita Kerr Singers. Jim (who had been a pro Baseball Player) became a Radio Announcer (Hence his perfect diction) on the Louisiana Hayride in Shreeveport Louisiana. His early recordings like BIMBO are very Country & Western and loved by Young Line Dancers. The Seniors prefer the classics like Four Walls & Distant Drums. With JIM you hear every word perfectly and Chet ensured that he sang ~ slower ~ lower ~ closer to the mic and never outside his range. Listen to JIM on You Tube ~ always immaculate ~ always perfect ~ His Gospel recordings are divine. Country love to All ~ BRIAN
