Going without my coffee,
Would be insane.
How it jumpstarts,
My waking brain.
I never drink it,
Without cream.
Drink it black,
I wouldn’t dream.
Will not have it,
Way too strong.
Gives me the jitters,
Just doesn’t belong.
So, as I write this,
I sit and wait.
If I go without a cup,
I’ll get a headache.

GOOD MORNING HONEY ~ I agree ! COFFEE ? It's just a bean ! YES just a bean ~ but one that's filled with pure CAFFEINE ! Coffee Kisses ~ BRIAN Please check my Poem and Fruity Fusion ~ Thanks B.
Thanks Dear Brian! I send you caffeine cheers!
Sadly true for me.but Instant black, filter with hot milk.
I like instant as well Garry. Sometimes with milk, but love my creamer! Thanks!
Good morning and good write
Very good morning to you Tony and thanks!
Welcome
And for me - pure coffee with milk or cream - properly made through a filter - none of that stuff forced through machines at Starbucks et al
I agree Michael. I am not a take-out coffee person. Make it at home with the filter, after grinding the beans kept fresh in a tightly-sealed container. Do love my coffee in the morning 🙂 Thanks.
Cofffff....eeeeee! Used to be, my jump start in the morning, too, but, now sadly, only one cup a day and usually in the afternoon. At home, decaf, cream and sugar. Such is life. Nicely written poem, good rhyming, Lite subject, good start to your day, I hope. - Phil A.
Thanks Phil. I, too, am better off with less coffee. I am down to two cups in the morning, but I do like decaf. Thanks for the insight and comment!
not to strong, not to lite,a little milk and sugar is what i like
Great rhyme that fits in a cup just right! Thanks wordman!
I can drink coffee any way it is put in front of me, I prefer it black with no sugar.
Black coffee without cream tastes better than black coffee without milk!
I tried that, but find that the cream is just right for me. Yet, that is really the way one should drink coffee... on its own. But, I really enjoy the creamer. No sugar, though. Thanks Goldfinch!
