Have the Aliens Landed?

Goldfinch60

Have the aliens landed?

You see them all around,

Walking down the street

They are there,

Walking with nature

They are there.

They walk along talking,

Seemingly talking to themselves.

Then you see it,

The wire coming out,

Coming from their heads.

They are obviously in contact,

In contact with another world,

Certainly a different world

From the one on which I live.

Have the aliens landed?

  • Comment from author about the poem: I have designated this a sad poem as that is how I think about it. You see so many people now attached to their mobile telephones that they must miss so much of what goes on around them.

I suppose it's needed in this technological age, but not ALL the time. A fine write. G. Did they have such things in 1066?!

There are such great feats of architure all around us if we only look up, there is beautiful bird song to be heard, there are meals to be enjoyed and celebrated, there are people to talk to, there is the wonder of nature. They must be aliens missing out on all this with their heads buried in their gadgets listening to what some refer to as music.

So true Michael, the ones that really get me are the ones that are 'wired in' when walking in nature's wonder.

Ha ha - - a wonderful comparison - talking it seems to themselves I have thought the same too - Aliens at least to my way of life - great read..

That is so very true Goldfinch. I was on a cruise boat years ago that allowed gambling. It would sail out for a few miles and people could then gamble in the casino. I was not in the casino, but topside (one of two passengers, there) and the others below missed the most beautiful sunset ever! I will never forget that. So, mobile devices are like gambling in a way ... very addictive. And, some are gambling with their lives, as they are in danger of just walking right out into traffic. Your words are spot on!

          Please don't make groan
          I'm glad i'm not alone
          Hating the Fobile Moan
          Of SATAN's Mobile Foan

          Thanks for caring ~ BRIAN
