  • Comment from author about the poem: When my American Friends visit the UK they are always amazed at the Money and Time we lavish on our YARDS (GARDENS) and I am equally surprised how the American front and rear YARDS (GARDENS) all run into each other and Neighbors will mow each others grass ! In the UK "An Englishman's Home really is his Castle and his Garden is his own "Secret Garden" and we erect high fences to prevent them seeing our antics in the Garden ~ sun bathing au natural etc ! We also have elaborate Ponds and Waterfalls ~ the ubiquitous Shed and pens for Rabbits ~ Guinea Pigs and Chickens etc. Anything is possible !In an "English Country Garden" so we have Garden Parties ~ Open Gardens ~ Garden Sales etc etc. Flowers of course are an essental item ~ so we have huge Garden Centres in every Village & Town ~ an industry that is worth millions. We all enjoy GARDENS but we don't all enjoy GARDENING especially of we are blessed with a VEGETABLE ALLOTMENT on another site ! Your comments are welcome ~ Jasmine for you ~ Scented Love ~ BRIAN XOX

Been in the garden all morning trimming ivy, cutting grass, hoeing, feeding pot plants - now aching a bit and soon off to the garden centre to get some bedding plants. Very apt posting.
