Our life together goes on,
Together all these many years,
That love we found so very long ago
Was so strong,
And through our life together
Has got so much stronger.
We have been through many things,
The good has always outweighed the bad,
And our love has never failed us.
I look back from old age and wonder,
Would we have done anything different?
Would we have run our life in the same way?
Then as I sit here in contentment,
I sit and realise,
Realise that the race for life
Through which we have come,
Is a race that we have already won.

Great reflections with which I have great affinity - well expressed.
Thank you Michael, life is good.
keep on winning your love Goldfinch60. nice write.
Thank you Kevin, I will.
A fine write. Not that we 'give up' when we get older, but I can't get all 'ambitious' now! Not that I always had a lot of spark when younger. Ohh, get me my carpet slippers and pipe, and I will sit by the fire in me dressing gown'. Well, we're millions of years old, so we say! Tee Hee.
Well, not the pipe - smoking is bad for us!
I suppose you'll be supping sherry then.
Oops! I forgot the sherry. How could I forget it?!
Was the race over for us two about 5 million years ago?! Or in 1066, when I made that blunder?!
We are still in the race but much slower now and more contented with our lot.
There will be one race that never ends . When over the horizon our spirit to send .
Happy now ? Just wait til then .
Once we are with our Spirit there will be no need to race.
Thanks ANDY "Godliness with contentment is great gain !" BRIAN
