I sit here unsettled,
Like something’s missing.
This nagging feeling,
In my ears, keeps ringing.
Feeling as though,
I left a stone unturned.
That there’s so much out there,
For me still to learn.
What of these thoughts,
Just wasting my time?
Do they contain a message,
I've been yearning to find?
It’s these types of things,
Keep me up through the night.
As I strive to improve,
The quality of my life.
And, the saying goes,
Not the destination, but journey,
Yet, I long for the calm,
In a world free from worry.

Ha ha , great picture . Well thoughtout plan for this poem . The dry humor is executed perfectly . Actually very very impressive use of cyclical phrases .
Thanks swingline. I thought the picture fit the feeling, exactly. 🙂
Thanks HONEY for another elegantly penned POEM. I guess all our lives are a process of searching for the missing pieces in the Jig~saw of our lives ! My experience is ~ SEEK and ye shall FIND ~ AMEN ~ Yours BRIAN.
I do get restless sometimes. I try to think my way through things, but sometimes it takes longer than I wish. Thanks for the comment Dear Brian!
Good write. The journey is the important thing in our lives.
Yes. Learning along the way. Sometimes, though, I get restless thinking about things that are left undone. Just have to be patient. Thanks Goldfinch!
