Betrayal And Broken Trust

WriteBeLight

How can she forgive,

The fear that was imposed.

The scrapes and bruises now,

Hidden beneath her clothes.

At first there’s love and hope,

Between each, a new relationship.

Helping each other, teamwork,

Sharing secrets, being intimate.

A supposed trust exists,

In thought between the two.

Yet for some reason, one,

Trust morphs, becomes skewed.

He jealously lashes out,

Finger pointing, accusations.

Yelling escalades to beatings,

On her, cuts and lacerations.

Finally inside the strength,

Wells up in her, the victim.

Takes steps to start the wheels,

Turning forward to an end.

Now alone in her thought,

Questions how this could happen.

Her gentle one turned monster,

No more her trusted love and friend.

Jesus did not raise his hand against another . So what gives any man the right to do so .

Some think they can. Very sad. But, she is moving on. Thanks swingline.

Sadly there are such men - and women if it comes to that .

I agree. In this case, it was a "man" who thought he could control. And, when he couldn't figured he could beat her down. But, he lost. Thanks Michael.

Thanks for sharing HONEY ~ We Men have a lot to answer for ! There are so many poems about MALES abusing FEMALES and very seldom the other way round ~ ALTHOUGH ~ we do get hurt emotionally (sometimes) and Real Men really do cry. My MOM (and my sister !) taught me to treat all ladies like Angels ~ with a lot of TLC ~ and I always do ! With TLC ~ BRIAN

          Another very good one,
          Seen all this first hand
          As a child.....
The evil that men do !!!!!

This horses's ass is getting his now. He is in some serious sh*t. Thankfully, she can move on and learn from the experience. Thanks P.H.

It is such a shame that some relationships end up like this, and there may be more than people realise. Good write.

Thanks Goldfinch. I am there by her side to support and help. And, what you say is so true. Wish she had confided in my sooner. But, here we are now. I will help her deal.
