My old glasses were slipping,
Off my face were falling.
I can’t think of anything,
Just so annoying.
So, I got some brand new,
Glasses sharp and clear,
They really fit great,
Where they sit upon my ears.
My prescription changed.
Seems my eyes improved.
Doctor says it was the Kale,
For daily lunch, I choose.
Thus, I have a fresh face,
I love my new lens.
The frames are really cute,
I look great, I can’t pretend.
Don’t mean to sound smug,
I’m not trying to brag.
Worn glasses since I was ten,
With my new look, I’m really glad!

Love your new GOGS (Scouse for Glasses) ~ HONEY ~ and I do make passes at Girls who wear Glasses ! Look out for me if you come Piccadilly Circus. I don't wear glasses yet bu my GF thinks they make Young Men look wise (like an OWL !) and she loves it when I wear plain lens shades in the Summer ~ Like ELVIS ! Thanks for sharing enjoy your new GOGS ~ Love the poem ~ very rhythmical ! Yours BRIAN
Thanks Dear Brian! I like to change things once and a while and I have to wear them all the time. So, had some fun this time 🙂
A fine write B.
Thanks orchidee!
So glad you got fixed up with the right glasses so now we will have lots more of your clear-sighted poems in which to reflect with delight.
Ha Ha. So kind of you Fay! I am glad the lens do not have to get much stronger. All that great salad I have every lunch! Never knew my eyes would improve 🙂
Hello old friend. I am sure you look fetching. But it's not ,about looks is it?
Augustus!!! My dear poet pal... No, not about looks. I have been wearing glasses since the 4th grade. I am happy that my eyes are doing great. Tried contacts, but I find them to be annoying. But, Augustus! I am so happy to hear from you. I have missed you very much and think of you everyday, hoping you are succeeding in your journey. Please do try to stay in touch more regularly!!! I can only imagine how difficult life is for you right now. Please know that I think of you and pray that you beat down the bully you are facing. So, so great that you stopped by!
You note is so meaningful to me. Nice to be missed. This disease had me physically drained, mentally tired and scared. I am not sure how much longed I'll be able to think, to write, but responses like yours I do miss and I am certain help to sustain me. Yea I did not do well with contacts either.

I am holding your hand, very tightly!
I feel the warmth and love of your presence.
🙂
The right glasses are just spiffy
When you look out they work jiffy
Those looking in just get wishy
YAY ! new glasses are so nifty .
Thanks swingline! I just love to get new glasses. These are different, but I think they are very trendy 🙂
Brilliant !!!!!
I change them
Every year...
But alas no kale
And so stronger
Lenses....
Love this poem...
Thanks P.H. I was so happily surprised when the Doctor told me that my eyes were stronger, so less power was needed to see clearly. I am so fortunate. Love your look though in your shades 🙂
Ha ha ... thanks
They're my old
Police shades
My wife keeps
Telling me to
Get new ones
I always getin a muddle choosing specs - so many to chose from - also only change mine every 2/3 years - with bifocals they are so very expensive despite the fact that my daughter is an optician and I get them at quite a discount - pleased yours are okay.
I have trifocals and when people try them on they cannot believe how strong the lens are. It is expensive and I try to choose the cheapest frames that have a much character as possible. I work at the computer a lot, so I do have to go for a check up every 2 years. That is so terrific that your daughter is an optician! Congrats!! You must be so very proud!
New glasses can always help you see the world in a better light. Good write.
Thanks Goldfinch! Everyone in my family needs them. So, it can get very expensive, especially that my two kids wear contacts, that I still help them with. I figure, if I have to wear them all the time, that I will have some fun with the frames. 🙂
