The bubble surrounding her gets stronger,
Gets stronger each passing day.
There are many moments each day
Where I find a hole in the bubble,
And my loved one is back with me,
But as each day goes on those holes get smaller
And I cannot break through.
It is so sad to see this once vibrant lady
Fall into the world of dementia,
A world where she is alone
Although I am by her side,
As I always have been,
And I always will.
All I can do is help as I can,
Be with her constantly,
And love her more each day,
As each day the bubble closes.

I'm having my own 'agony' over a semi-adopted cat. Can we pray the bubble burst somehow? Some things 'can't be helped' I find myself saying. Yet they can be helped through love, prayer, caring, etc - as you do. Thinking of you both.
Than you Orchi.
My prayers and sympathy , all I have to give .
Thank you swingline.
GF60 this is so good.
Beautifully written
A story in each word
A sad time but put
So well into words...
Thank you so much PH, much appreciated.
Prayerful thoughts go with you in this hardest of tasks when a loved one is subjected to this called dementia. A most moving read my friend.
Thank you Fay, much appreciated.
My thoughts are with you - written with passion.
Thank you Michael, most kind.
So true, the light is always with us.
Thanks ANDY for putting your thoughts of your loved one in a lovely metaphor of her being in a bubble with limited access. A lovely but sad picture. I have a BUBBLE relationship but we are both in the same BUBBLE. This restricts our degrees of communication but we are together ! Thinking of you and praying for you ~ Yours BRIAN.
Thank you Brian
So sad and so beautiful. I pray there will be moments you can both enjoy. Hugs.
Thank you Augustus, there are good moments
My heart goes out to you Goldfinch!
Thank you WBL.
Very moving, and simply and effectively written.
If I am ever called to raise my love I hope that I can do so with as much grace.
Thank you Jabberwocky, most kind.
