Fits tune: Ville Du Havre
('When peace like a river')
Psalm 19 v.1 - 5
********
The heavens the glory of God do declare
And so too the firmament fair
Does show forth His handiwork, His crafts true skilled
All created as He has good willed
Chorus
Day to day (day to day)
Night to night (night to night)
God's works seen, God's works known, praise His name
Day to day utters speech, night to night knowledge
Does show, His works they encourage
There be no speech and there be no language, none
Where their voice is not heard, no, not one - Chorus
Their line is gone out throughout all of the earth
Showing the Creator's great worth
And their words have gone out to the ends of the world
He His works He has shown, them unfurled - Chorus
In the sky He a tabernacle for sun
Has set, gloriously has done
'Tis as a fine bridegroom, graciously prepared
As strong man running race, unimpaired - Chorus

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 11 8 11 9 for verses, and 3 (3) 3 (3) 9 for the chorus. Not the easiest metre, but one only has to work out the tricky Chorus part once!

Enjoy the views of the Rocky mountains in the clip too!
Really enjoyed this, great work
Thanks S.
Beautiful words and video .
Thanks S.
Thanks STEVEN for a real feast ~ one of my fave Hymns sung by a Mixed Choir ! I often sang this with Choir when younger ! Love the video of The USA ~ that too revived memories ! I love you poem to quite a difficult meter ~ thanks ~ An Awesome Contribution ! On a lighter note as a Teen i was always amused by the line (taken out of context} "My SIN O the BLISS of this glorious thought !" Thanks for caring & sharing ~ BRIAN
Thanks Brian. Oohh heehee, that's what can happen when we take verses out of context! Not an easy metre here - seems all over the place - long, short, long, etc. 8686 is Common Metre (CM) you may know. I could 'cheat' - it fits to so many tunes! Or have easier days, and use that metre.
A very good write Orchi.
Thanks G/F. But all was not 'well' in 1066. Did I listen to you then, about Harold?!
