Fits tune: North Coates
('O my Saviour lifted')
**********
1. Breathe, cool Spirit, refreshed
Hearts, minds, souls oppressed
Are renewed when you send
Your grace and us tend
2. Light to see the way plain
More [of] your image gain
Step by step to follow
More of Christ to know
3. Water here to quench thirst
If draught e'en does worst
And bread of life to feed
Us, meet all our need
4. Grant your balm of healing
Peace in everything
Quieten man's long strivings
Then praise to you rings
5. I shall by you aspire
Seek a spark, a fire
Of your Spirit's presence
Then be strengthened hence
6. To go forth in your power
To live every hour
Unto you, if I fail
Your grace will prevail
7. Meditate a while, hear
To your Lord draw near
In simple tones praising
Honour to Him bring
8. On through life, each journey
Here your Spirit be
Within and beside me
Faithful, true, and free
9. And to other witness
In your name them bless
The gospel, evangel
Confident them tell
10. How His full salvation
Is for each nation
So breathe on all we pray
'Til eternal day

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 65 65 metre. Don't ask me to repeat the title when I've been on the sherry! heehee. Inspired by the heatwave (when it was here in the UK!) and the oppressive humidity. This organist guy will be worn out. I make him play many days!

Thanks STEVE ! JESUS said "You will receive power when you are filled with The Holy Spirit ~ and will be my Witnesses in your own County ~ the neighbouring Counties ~ your whole Country and then the whole WORLD ~ AMEN" Your excellent HYMN says it all ~ AMEN (again). Yours BRIAN
