DEJA VU ~ PENNSYLVANIA FARM GIRL ~ A Sonnet

BRIAN & ANGELA

As I approached ~ saw her in the distance

Tending her vegetable patch with her

Black & white cat ~ Her dress was 19th century.

They have period reenactments in

Penn State so it did not phase me ~ Perhaps

She was AMISH~ I had seen a BUGGY !

I wanted to talk to her ~ but was distracted

By a WASP ~ which buzzed at me from nowhere

When I turned round ~ SHE and her CAT were GONE !

Door to the cellar ~ closed tight shut ~ SPOOKY !

I entered the House ~ which was a Museum

"Where is the LADY I saw in the Garden ?"

"You saw her too ?"  queried the Curator..

Then I saw The Painting ~ IT WAS MY LADY !

Thanks for visiting ~ Comments welcome ~ Have you ever

had a DEJA VU experience ?  Please elaborate.  Love BRIAN XOX

This Poem is prsented as a classic 6 6 2 blank verse  Sonnet

  • Comment from author about the poem: DEJA VU EXPERIENCES ARE NOT UNCOMMON ! The presence of a Person (or Persons) can materialise years after they have died ~ especially if they have died in tragic circumstances. There are many "haunted sites" in the UK and the USA. Sometimes the image one sees ~ has been "captured" in a Painting or a Photograph. When I asked the Curator about the Girl & her Cat ~ She said "Yes that is Martha who tragically drowned (with her Cat Bobby) in the well in 1833 ! Several People have reported seeing her as they approached but she always dematerialises !" I was visibly shaken by the experience ! Perhaps it was an elaborate hoax ~ the House was exactly as in the Painting ~ but the cellar door was shut and Martha and Bobby were both gone ! The story (and sightings of Martha) did attract visitors interested in the PARANORMAL ~ which would explain the Painting ~ which I have reproduced for you ! Comments welcome ~ Spooky Love ~ BRIAN XOX

Ghosts can be good at times as is this poem.

THANKS ANDY ~ I guess all DEJA VU are in essence GHOSTS and yes ~ they can be a Blessing and give us a glimpse of the eternal influence of History. It is a neglected Subject and I love History ~ especially the History of Science ~ When Crick & Watson unveiled their model of DNA in 1953 and published it in Nature they were unaware of the INFINITE contents of the Pandora's Box who lid they had fortuitously lifted ! Watson is still drawing treasure from that same box and it was he (at he tender age of 23 !) in the midnight hours while Cambridge was still sleeping ~ who discovered the "double helix key" that lifted the lid on GENETICS ~ once and for all ~ a DEJA VIEW indeed ! BRIAN. God designed DNA ~ the key to life ~ and left it to 20th C Science to unlock and explore its infinite Genetic Code ~ AMEN ~ BRIAN Please add an ANIMAL to my Developing Fusion and i will add a Picture ~ Thanks B.

Great piece of atmospheric writing Brian

      • BRIAN & ANGELA

Thanks MICHAEL ~ MPS always needs a bit of Atmosphere ! Your BRIAN ! If you add an animal to my Developing Fusion ~ i promise to add an appropriate painting ~ OK ~ BRIAN

          Okay !

Well, I met myself coming back from the local shops one day. Or I thought I did. Mind you, I had been on the sherry. Shumthing shpooky? Good acting innit?! heehee.

          • BRIAN & ANGELA

Ohhhhhhhh STEVE ~ that sherry will be the death of you one day ! Thanks for your droll reply ! If you add an Animal Poem to my Developing Fusion ~ I promise to add an appropriate picture ~ OK ~ BRIAN

Was that, in fact, a Deja Vu experience or a Paranormal one? I don't remember having seen a ghost, but have experienced the paranormal. I was once married to a woman who could communicate with 'the other side'.

            • BRIAN & ANGELA

Thanks LOUIS for an intresting question and comment. My Aunty Gladys is a medium and says she is always surrounded by HUMAN SPIRITS which she can feel but none of us can see ~ spooky ! I knew i was visiting a preserved 19th C farmhouse so maybe I expected to see something and I never got close enough to (the vision of) Martha and her Cat before they disappeared. The real spooky thing was the Painting ~ which was what i saw and also the fact that Martha and her Cat had died tragically drowning in the well. It is well documented that sould that suffer violent deaths (and animals) find it difficult to ascend to the next Astral Plain ! I can only report what I thought I saw and the shock of seeing the Painting ! Thanks for caring ! If you add an animal to my DEVELOPING FUSION ~ I promise to post an appropriate picture for you ~ THANKS BRIAN

very nice Brian - we co create our reality and live by it as if it was REAL REALITY & TRUTH... that is why there is so much confusion...conflicts
              lovely energy

              • BRIAN & ANGELA

Thanks AVI ~ pleased you got the energy ~ I tried to tell it like it was. What convinced me of its DV reality was the painting (which i never seen) which was what i actually saw ~ from a distance ! Because I am a PHYSICAL SCIENTIST ~ I am normally very skeptical of "Things that go bump in the Night" BUT I know what i saw and then did not see (deja vu ?) and then there was the painting ~ sent specifically to convince a skeptic ? Thanks for broadening my horizons
~ Love you lots ~ BRIAN

              • Christina8

Very nice poem! I have experienced Deja Vu but not in the context you have here. Just in the sense that I've been somewhere before that I had never actually been prior to, or something like that. This is really interesting! And well written! Hugs, Christina

                • BRIAN & ANGELA

THANKS CHRIS ~ I knew you would find it interesting. Normally we are bound by time and space ~ we can move through Space and interestingly enough because we are normally about 4000 miles apart we are in different time zones it\'s 11 pm for me but only 5 pm for you.but of course it takes time to travel through space ! Normally we cannot travel forwards or back through time except in Science Fiction ! In Deja Vu involving people (like Martha & her Cat) because they had a violent death their Spirits get \"locked in time and they can materialise (be seen physically) over 180 years later ~ that is the DEJA VU explanation ! I have had your experience ~ being somewhere NEW in Spain and feeling I h lived there before ! This is propagated by those who believe in reincarnation etc. We don\'t live an a B & W Planet ~ there are many many shades of GREY ! In another answer (to LoriVee) I mentioned that when we pray (and you and I do !) we communicate with the Spiritual Dimension (Heaven) free and with NO WIFI etc and because it works and is endorsed by Scripture we never question it ! At the same time we castigate Spiritualists etc who clim to communicate with departed Spirits in other Astral Planes ! Fact is often much stranger than fiction ~ Astral hugs ~ BRIAN

Interesting experience. I always look into finding something like this. Had some experience but not so important as yours.

                      • BRIAN & ANGELA

Thanks MALU ~ it is the only major one I have had ~ but it was SPOOKY ! We must remain open minded to the Supernatural ! Yours BRIAN

                      • malubotelho

Yes, I have windows and doors open.

Thanks MALU ~ My Jewish Friend HANNAH left her door open for the Prophet Elijah to visit and now her CAT has escaped ~ VOS A SHOD ! BRIAN

                          • malubotelho

Hahaha. I don't want to be used as a medium but where I live I'm still safe. And I have no dogs or cats.

                          • Gary Edward Geraci

Sonnet well done Brian. Coincidentally, I just read "Dave Lilly" by Joyce Kilmer (found here under Poets) but I'm not quite sure whether the experience he writes about is fact or fiction. Also, speaking of genetics, what do you think of the Augustinian friar Gregor Mandel and his famous pea plants? What he called invisible "factors" in 1866 are now known as genes!

                            • BRIAN & ANGELA

Thanks GARY pleased you liked my DEJA VU ~ I mentioned in my last comment to you the importance of the PAINTING ~ which was what i saw in DV before I saw the Painting ! To some extent the AMISH are DEJA VU and I love to visit their Homes ~ Shops ~ Schools & Farms ~ I hope TRUMP does not try to UPDATE them and also does more of the Native Americans ~ A wonderful diverse culture. I will check on "Dave Lilly". MENDEL a wondeful amateur Botanist ~ whose observations were 100 years ahead of his time ! I give talks on his work and also the amazing work of CRICK & WATSON & ROSIE FRANKLIN in 1952 / 3 in determing the elegant DOUBLE HELIX STRUCTURE of DNA the simple yet profound basis of the GENETIC CODE ! I am a BIOCHEMIST so I have had a chance to study these issues in depth ! Thank you ~ BRIAN

                              • Gary Edward Geraci

Yes, I feel your passion for science my worthy friend in Christ. My knowledge of Mendel is limited and was acquired only through studying apologetic arguments to bolster my own position against those whom would argue that Faith and Science are incompatible. Were Crick, Watson, and Franklin believers in God?
