Shore-Song.

Fay Slimm.

Shore-Song.

Ground shakes
as massive breakers force reverberation.

Blast booms,
rock face crash-cracks, creating spume.

Waves break
over fall's gradation as race accelerates.

Tidal sound
grinds into groundswell as din re-bounds.

Water weight
trapping soaked air roars in anticipation.

Before long
tide turns round for another shore-song.

Hear it, smell it, experience it - this says it all in a great atmospheric write.

You are saying in such a beautiful way what I experience nearly every time we go to the beach. And the picture is nice too. Thanks for another good one Fay!

I hear the sound your poem portrays so well, Fay. I can smell the salt air. I, too, live on a shore, but mine is sand rather than rock so the sound is muted. Oh well, I still appreciate it. Thanks for this fine post!

Sing to me all day, Ms. Fay...the song of nature's might in salt plumes from your pen.

      • Nicholas Browning

Very interesting portrayal of one of nature's aspects. Nicely done as well.
