H OT AIR BALLOONS Unique form of transport
O VER two hundred and thirty years old
T HE principle is simple because hot
A IR is lighter than cold air - hence Lift Off !
I LOVE the silence - serenity - I
R EALISE how a bird must feel - there' no
B UZZING propellers - noisy jet engine
A CREATURE floating through space - awesome !
L OVE the freedom and gliding feels the same
L ET US HONOUR Stephen Montgolfier
O NE of the brothers who developed the
O VAL BALLOON and he made the first flight
N OBODY else would risk their lives - but he
S URVIVED and he lived to age - Fifty Four !

If you've never flown in a hot air balloon - try it before
it's too late - it's quite safe ! Airships of course operate
on the same principle but use lighter than air gasses -
hydrogen and helium instead of hot air. Helium is more
expensive but it is non-flammable ! Safety rules - OK !

Good write. We see many hot air balloons around our way and the town used to have a hot air balloon festival. I have many picture of them but have never been up in one. I am quite high enough at 6'1".
