Vanishing Fears.

Goldfinch60

In this life you learn.

As you learn you progress,

Feel more confident.

But sometimes you do not know,

Do not know what the answer is.

The answer has not been given,

This frightens you,

And a void opens up before you.

This gap become filled,

Filled with your fears.

They pour into it

Because you do not know,

Do not know

Until the answer has been found,

When your fears vanish.

Ah GF, never mind the answers, getting the questions right would be an achievement.

    Good write.

    • Goldfinch60

Thanks Frank. Do we ever ask the right questions?

      • Frank Prem

Rarely, and usually too late. Oh well!

Do we know what questions to ask - good work G.

        • Goldfinch60

Probably not but we must keep asking them.

Good points raised about questions above me here. For me i am blessed with a faith which enables me to accept that all answers will not be available to me. There are greater things of which we have no understanding.

Very true b-e, much of our lives we accept without understanding why.

Good write G/F. A bit different angle - it's said that the fear of doing something can be worse than the fear we may have while actually doing it.
Erm, I was not fearful in 1066 to tell Harold to look up. Then my fear was worse after he did look up!

          • Goldfinch60

We are back to the fear of the unknown. It is always the unknown that frightens us. I bet Harold was more fearful than you when he saw it coming!!

Fear of the unknown. Curiosity killed the cat.. i've always wondered why! This is such a great poem. Very relatable, perfectly written:)

            • Goldfinch60

              Thank Renzi, most kind.

I think your first two lines say it all; "In this life you learn. As you learn you progress,". What else is there ... why else would we be here? My take, anyhow. A fine, thought stimulating poem, Goldie.

Thanks Louis, we learn all the time.

FDR: Only thing we have to fear is fear itself.
                Great poem Goldfinch!

Thanks Fred, fear is what we can conquer when we do what is fearful.

Thanks ANDY ~ in my experience A Question with an Answer cease to be a Question ~ the answer makes it obsolete and Google now has over 90% of the Answers which makes Education obsolete ! I am always looking for new questions like "What is a Woman ?" otherwise I would die of frustration ~ Thanks for querying ~ BRIAN Please check my new FUSION ~ thanks B.
