F ABRICS  are fabulous ~ we all love SILK !

A PPAREL  should it always be practical ?

B UT FASHION  can dictate fabric ~ colour ~ the

R AG TRADE  (worth billions) dictates STYLE !

I'M  a MAN more concerned with FUNCTION ~ less

C ONCERNED  with FASHION ~ Cotton is kool ~ BUT

S ILK  is what my Ladies (and I) like to feel !

I have studied Textile Science and each FABRIC has it's own

"handle" (feel). Smooth sensual fabrics ~ like silk ~ are very

suitable for lingerie (Yin & Yang !) but are of course expensive !

Lingerie Parties (Only Girls Allowed !)  by Victoria's Secret and

other companies are very popular with ladies of all ages. Men

just have to choose between BOXERS or Y-FRONTS  but some

prefer Ladies Lingerie. When I buy lingerie for my Ladies I always

buy the BRAS too big and the PANTIES too small (wishful thinking ?)

so now I just give them £50 ($65)  VS Vouchers !

W e are not only concerned with the FEEL (HANDLE) of the fabric but also its composition ~ silk ~ cotton ~ nylon ~ rayon ~ wool ~ denim etc ~ the choice is endless. Colour and colour fastness (to light washing etc) is also important and the Textile Industry and Dyestuff Industry work hand in glove. The durability of fabrics (wear and warp & weft strength) is also important. In "throw away" away Societies ~ like the UK & USA ~ Female Clothing is not manufactured (mostly in Asia) to last ~ wear today & gone tomorrow ~ the same in increasingly true for Male garments. Ladies can buy disposable (paper ?) panties ! Synthetic textiles are just thinking God's thoughts after Him ~ the structure of NYLON is in essence just SYNTHETIC WOOL but it's never as soft or springy ! When you buy clothing (or curtains etc) what is most important ? price ~ colour ~ fashion ~ style etc or do you consider the type of FABRIC (natural ~ synthetic ~ a mixture etc) to be important. Do you ever buy Clothing to be durable and last any more ~ or just for passing (and throw away) fashion ? I love AMERICAN THRIFT STORES ~ lots of New or Nearly New Men's Clothing in large sizes at "give away" prices ! ANGELA prefers to buy new ! Comments welcome ~ Love to ALL ~ BRIAN XOX

      Thanks STEVE ~ I knew the Poem (and the Picture !) would tickle you fancy ! I felt in a more frivolous mood today so I posted an 18 ! Back to a more serious and more spiritual poem tomorrow on LAND & SOIL pollution ~ blame my QUAKER MUSE ~ my muse today (last night) was the cheeky SISTER MOON ~ I wrote it restless in the NIGHT while under her influence !         Thanks FAY ~ pleased you enjoyed it an appreciated the innuendo in the final line ! I always try to include little information about textiles as well as the more obvious "feel" we have for them ~ most Man have lost their capacity to be Dandies. I have never cross dressed but I am empathetic to men who do because Ladies have 99% of the sensuous & silky garments ! I graded it 18 because of the Picture ~ OK Yours as ever BRIAN

            Nice writing and I love the design of the little night gown on your picture. I've tried to manufacture lingerie here in USA but almost went broke when the recession came on 2008. My lingerie business is called Sweet Chilli Pepper. I'm still making them but only silk and custom made. Thanks for sharing.

              Good write but what intrigues me is why is fashion so bad that it needs to be changed every few months (or even weeks) - it is nothing to do with money of course!

                NOW NOW ANDY ~ You know the poor Rag Traders have to earn a crust ~ so they major on Passion & Fashion ! Us mere MEN benefit both ways unless of course we have to pay for it !
