WE ALL ARE CAPTIVES

Louis Gibbs

Our bodies are

The prison of our

Consciousness

Wherein we serve

Our time on earth

As captives

  • Comment from author about the poem: A reflection of the deep conscious knowing that these 'earth vehicles' no more represent the fullness of our being than do our egos ... both merely components of the earth-experience we have chosen this time.

      Thought provoking

Thank you, Mel, I appreciate your thought on this.

Hmm, I've heard it described in reverse. Our consciousness, and so our soul and spirit, 'captive' within our human body as the 'shell'. A fine write Louis.

        • Louis Gibbs

Another very accurate way of putting it, orchidee! Thanks for your input.

A little belter - great piece Louis

From the king of little belters, a great compliment! Thanks, Michael.

A truth wrapped in poetry - I agree with Michael a belter for sure - - great read Louis.

Thank you for your confirmation, Fay!

Can we ever escape from consciousness? Maybe our writing is the way out. Good write.

              • Louis Gibbs

To me, 'consciousness' is the true self ... the ego-mind is what is so difficult to escape from, and writing is indeed a way out. Thanks so much for your input, Goldie, always appreciated!

A nice reflection about life. We are not our body or our mind. Still we need to feel gratitude for our body is the vehicle that serve us porpoise here.

                • Louis Gibbs

You nailed it, malubotelho! Thanks for your thoughts.

THANKS LOUIS ~ Our Body is temporal of the Earth ~ Our Spirit is eternal of the Spiritual Realm. I accept that for my sojourn on Planet Earth I must have a Human Shell (Body) to blend in ! To be part of a Family etc I am clothed in my Earthly Parents DNA which makes me a White (pink actually) Anglo-Saxon born & raised in Liverpool. Had i been assigned to the Planet ZOZ my Spirit would have worn a different Body ! When i move to my next Dimension ~ My Spirit will be the same but my body transformed to accommodate (fit in). I am enjoying my time on planet Earth but often I long to be extracorperial ! Yours BRIAN

Thank you for this thoughtful, thought-provoking reply, Briansodes. Our human shells are indeed a requirement in the interaction experiences we came to earth for. On other realms we are clad in quite different forms as you point out. I was granted, in this lifetime, the brief, glorious experience of being consciously free of this body ... an experience so exquisitely beautiful that it left me sobbing when called back, unable to appreciate this temporary earth-sojourn in the same way.

And that is a resounding compliment, whisperingquill! Thank you so much.

Hi Louis.. a beautifully scribed and true state of our being you have described here in those few short words. Thank you.

                        • Louis Gibbs

Thank you for those kind words, Alf! I'm pleased that it resonated with you.
