I Know You're There

Accidental Poet

Some question if you’re there

If you really exist

If they believe at all

Your love still they resist

They ask why you allow

Bad things to happen

But if they look at society

It’s a self-inflicted pattern

We’re all of our own ethics

Following our own beliefs

And at days end

We must pay for our receipts

Some feel that you owe them

Simply because they were born

Ungrateful for their life

Evident of the frown worn

We all have morals

Some good, some bad

And we all have priorities

We learned from mom and dad

Some believe in you

And some don’t

Some love you

And some won’t

And some will say

That for us you don’t care

Reluctant to hear us

Me? I know you’re there

A fine write AP. I'm always here of course, like a pain in the neck, a bad apple, the plague, etc... heehee.

This poem was kind of a affirmation to God that I do believe in him even if I can't physically see or hear him. Thanks for your note and compliment.

Thanks AP. I know what you mean. I tend to just 'know' I believe in Him too. Some call it 'blind faith', but I don't think it is that.

I'm like this too, Ap. I can appear dogmatic and insistent. I'm not strict and Pharisee-like though. I'm very closed-minded to some religions - for my own safety, I feel. You won't see me on any inter-faith committees!

        Good write. I believe.

Well, I'm glad you like it a lot. That your peers can like what you do is a great compliment and I know I must be doing something right. Thank you for reading.

            It was a pleasure 🙂

Yes, God is there, for good and for bad. For everything. Sometimes, I just got bit confused.

            Nice poem.

God is there for the confused too. He\'s there for all of us. Thanks for your kind words.
