Today is Monday.
Of the work week, first day.
Put my nose to the grindstone.
Feels good to earn my pay.
I’m dedicated to my work.
Lucky to love what I do.
Keeps food on the table.
And, the lights on, too.
Some aren’t so fortunate.
They hate going to work.
Co-workers are dinks.
The boss is a flipping jerk.
But, I will remain,
At this job, I love.
If my boss ever treats me badly,
Up his rear, his head, he can shove.

You never cease to give us a smile - thanks WBL
As you do with your paintings and writing Michael! Thanks 🙂
A fine write WBL.
Thanks orchidee. I think of Mondays as a challenge to get through, sometimes. I do appreciate my job, however.
Sometimes it might not be Monday in itself that's the drag, but end of month tasks to do within a job, whatever day they may fall on.
Yes, true.
Thanks HONEY for another of your Poems which starts off serious but ends up ~ up the Bosses A** ! I have always loved my JOBS too ! At work they call me SMILER ~ which is nice ! Happy Hugs ~ BRIAN
I am fortunate Brian! Thanks for the comment, Smiley Poet!
Lol! Great poem Wbl, or should I say grate? Thanks for the smiles to get rid of our monday morning blues 🙂
Ha Ha Hopey! You are welcome. Glad I could help with what can be a tough day! Thanks!
Oh, my Write! You sure do tell it like it is, not like many people do. I love the way the words just seem to flow.. Good write, good message as well! Thanks so much for sharing!
You are very kind Edward! Thanks.
Your poem brings to mind the saying ... "Do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life." Your poem reflects that theme very well, WBL. I enjoyed it!
Excellent point Louis. Thank you 🙂
WBL, I replied on this earlier between storms but I guess it didn't stick!!! Fun piece of Monday humor to brighten my gray day! Most bosses heads originate where your bosses may end up, lol. Wonderful to have a job you love!
I love that thought Heather! You are so right. We all need to put our bosses on 60-day probation before we decide to take a job permanently. Turn the tables on them! Thank you!
Good fun write. Being retired now I can look back at my life of work and say that I enjoyed it for the vast majority of the time. All forty seven years and one month of it!
Wow Goldfinch! I admire that! A hard worker for sure! Thank you for your comment! It works for me 🙂
