My talents I’m told
Reaching far and wide
But they leave me yearning
For something more inside
Something created
Shaped from my own hands
Built from separate parts
Only a craftsman understands
The part of me
That reaches deep within
For something that took
My whole life to begin
And this I must confess
Creativity dares me
A challenge I can’t resist
For what is yet to be
To build it straight and true
Polished to a luminous shine
Knowing all the while
It’ll always be mine
It’s the searching
For that unfulfilled quest
A thirst needing to be quenched
The pursuit of personal best

The words you have used in this poem are great!
Nice write 🙂
Thanks Bri. I appreciate the compliment.
WOW AP ~ It is encouraging ~ that @ 60+ ~ you still have ambition to produce your best work ! I'm half your age so i still have a lot to prove ! However (as you know) I do not post my Poems until they are "Polished to Perfection" and that is true of all that I try to do. Your Poem (elegant in Form & Function) encourages us all in "The pursuit of personal best !" Thanks for caring and sharing ~ BRIAN
Thanks Brian, I do try to encourage and inspire as I myself am from everyone here.
We must all strive for more, if we give up we will fail. All we can do in doing that though is our best. Good write.
Thanks Goldfinch. There's a lot of personal best here @ MPS, including you.
The pursuit of personal best
That is the best we can do and by doing it, there will be no regrets left.
Wonderful writing.
In my best Elvis like voice, "Thank you, thank you very much". Seriously, thanks for your comment and compliment.
I hear you and the charming voice.
See, I told you she heard both of us.
It’s the searching
For that unfulfilled quest
A thirst needing to be quenched
The pursuit of personal best
Need to confess that this is what bothers me, what keeps me looking for something special, something not yet at my control. I loved to read you and the way you state how you keep searching for that something. Awesome writing.
Thank you for the compliment. May you always have that thirst and the ability to quench it.
