SUMMER IDYL

Michael Edwards

She lazed there long by balustrades

above the whispering river run

where oars dipped down in winding water

gently rippling, gurgling, lapping

wild green banks of rush and willow.

Stretched beyond the straddling lanes

the luscious woods and gold-rich fields

where ragged shadows rose and fell

and birds sang out their heavenly song

in tune with nature’s harmony.

Her cherished view that radiant day

would charm a less receptive mind.

In my hunt for piece left to time, I landed on this today - it reminds me of one I have been formulating for a week, and thus - your poem resonates.
A fine description of a day to daydream and I shall love to lie down with your pic, under a shady three on field of green grass.
