SUMMER
Dressed in hues of deepest green
the fields and hedges, trees and moors
with still no mottled leaf as yet
to fade from colours die.

- Comment from author about the poem: Wrote this yesterday as one-off stanza when the idea for it came to me but seeing it written down I think I'll write one for each season and post the others over the next three days then put the lot together when finished as a single work. Sometimes a bit of pressure works so fingers crossed.

Good write M, 12 minutes into another Summer day! heehee. Well, my diary says Autumn does not start until mid-September, so.....
Cheers Orchi - off to the workshop this morning to sharpen the pen - or is the sword - to write a few more.
Beautiful write Michael.
Thanks Andy
This time I am not sure if I like the painting better than the poem. I guess it is a tie, since the poem is really nice too! Can't wait to see the other three seasons (and other three paintings!).
Give them half a star each - tomorrows is almost written - the seasons may be a bit out of sync but I'll put them all together in the right order at the end - said he hopefully.
Thanks MICHAEL ~ You are in thought and indeed ~ Like VIVALDI (and PIZZA of course !) "A man for all Seasons" Loved the Happy Poem & Haunting Painting ~ BRIAN
We ate at Manoir aux Quat'Saisons a little while back so another to add to the list - I used to love Vivaldi's seasons but I've heard it so many times it's become a bit like wallpaper.
Beautiful composition Michael. And the paint goes well with the poem. Beach like. Very soothing
Now I have to find something to go with the other three - thanks for looking in malu.
Laughing at your comment about seasons might be a bit out of sync to Fred. Now THATS poetic icence for ya sir! I like this, youve set a standard now for the other three seasons. I wonder if you have a favourite season and will it shine through your pieces? Just have to wait and see won't i.
Thanks dusk - don't think I've got a favourite but winter comes in bottom- thank goodness for hot water bottles !!
Good concept, well done
Thank you wischuett
Love your summer in deepest green.
I do love the deep green of summer trees here in the UK - rich and lush - thanks m&m
