Thanks for visiting ~ Comments welcome  ~ Love BRIAN XOX

An EDONE is the creation of the Surrealist Mind of Michael

Edwards ~ whom God preserve of Much Binding in the Marsh !

The simplicity of the form is beyond reason ~ BUT ~ It always

produces a very slender EL GRECO PYRAMID pleasing to the ear.

10 words vertically each  a letter more than the former ~ AMEN !

I think the name 'Edita' would fit the bill. Go on Brian give it a go.

              500 is awesome

              • BRIAN & ANGELA

Thanks WLS ~ I was born and raised in the Great Poetry tradition of Liverpool so for us writing ODES was a easy as writing PROSE. We were taught at School to appreciate and read and recite Poetry. We were introduced to Great Poets Like Shakespeare & Wordsworth & Keats & Burns and 20C ones like Betjeman and also classic poetic forms like Sonnets & Villanelles. For me MPS is like an Open university of Poetry. BRIAN Please check my poems and the Fusion on DRINK (click on DEVELOPING to see it ~ OK) ~ Thanks B.

Quite a milestone! Your 500th poem! And what a spectacular one at that! A fine example of an edone. Great job!! 500 hugs--Christina (Love the painting)

                • BRIAN & ANGELA

Thanks ANGEL 500 is a milestone ! However in this case the Painting is infinitely more beautiful than the Poem. For spatial reasons (you know how I love SHAPE Poems !) I decided to hilite EL GRECO in my EDONE ! Having written the Poem ~ I published it and then searched for a suitable El Greco painting. When i found his depiction of CHRIST and the CROSS ~ so gaunt and yet so resolute ~ I was bowled over by it ~ AWESOME ! You are very perceptive ~ thanks for hiliting ! HI ANGEL ~ I have posted a new FUSION on DRINK ~ would love a CHRISTINA S to complement ~ MILKY HUGS ~ BRIAN @@@@@@@@@@@@@

Congratulations on the 500 and also on this fine Edone!

                    • BRIAN & ANGELA

Thanks FRED I love the inevitable shape of an EDONE (very slim pyramid) it put me in mind of EL GRECO People Paintings ! The Picture and the Painting are complementary so a good candidate for No. 500 ! Yours BRIAN'

                    • myself and me

500 congratulations. We sure have geniuses here. Some create new format, some could write with a snap. I am still working on my edone, not sure when will get it done.

                      • BRIAN & ANGELA

Thanks M & M ~ The EDONE naturally forms a slim PYRAMID ~ which screamed to me EL GRECO hence the 500th Poem ! However I needed a perfect EL GRECO Painting to illustrate and I found it ! The Painting complements the FORM & FUNCTION of the POEM ! Because I was raised in Liverpool ~ which has a great written an oral Poetry Tradition (Think John Lennon !) all I need is a Poetic Form and a Theme and my subconsciousness writes the Poem for me ! Yours BRIAN ~ Please check our latest B & S FUSION on Drink and add a Poem ~ Thanks B
