A Welshman who hailed from Gower
got looks from his boss quite sour
‘If you’re late once more
you’ll be out of the door!’
so he put back his watch by an hour.

Good limerick. It is amazing how many times my watch stopped when I first started going out in the evenings from my home with mum and dad.
It's so much easier to remove the battery.
Battery! BATTERY! This was back in the sixties? We were barely far away from sun dials!
A fine write Michael. Could he change his watch if he was from Llanfair-gogo-wotsit?!
Doubt it - it's Llanfair nogo- watsit !
Thanks MIKE I know the GOWER well and in my mind it rings a Bell ! Welsh Time is very volatile especially in rural Wales like LLANGEFNI on Anglesey ! I turned up to speak at a Church The ORGANIST (playing Cwm Rhonda) and the usher were there but no congregation ~ i thought that perhaps the word had got out that Brian the Saesneg (English) was speaking ! Th Usher said "Don't fret FY ANNWYL" they have cows to milk and pigs to feed they'll come when they're ready ! An hour after the scheduled stat time the Church was full ~ the service went well and the singing (all in Welsh) was "The Language of Heaven" as I left the Usher smiled and said WELSH TIME is When i'm good and ready time" Thanks BRIAN
Love that story Brian - when I'm good and ready time - wonder if they'll adopt it in my village !
Great limerick, Michael! Here we have Hawaiian Time, always half an hour late!

Behind the times eh what? Thanks Fred
Well look at the actual time. We are the last ones before the date line. So we are always behind everybody. Look at the time stamp of when I wrote the comment (last night, before going to bed, so for me it was still the 16th) and your answer.
So, yes, I guess we are actually behind the times!!! 🙂
Thanks Fred - so comforting to know there's support in the rear 🙂 🙂 🙂
Fun Michael a good way to start my Sunday
Cheers Bill
I think I worked for that guy. He always left early.
I was about to say "Nice limerick," but they aren't supposed to be
"nice" are they? I'll simply say "Fresh limerick". Enjoyed the flashback to my working days. - Phil A.
Thanks Phil - isn't it great to have left work in the past.
I used to visit the Gower every month of the year, a favourite area with best beaches by far.
My memory often stumbles
To peninsular past The Mumbles
where such outstanding beauty
often found me fruity
To revisit? - my heart grumbles
First area in UK to be designated 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'.
I love a limerick, would write them all day. Great to see you enjoy them too. Enjoyed yours here and obviously struck a chord in me.
Big thank you.
That's great but then you can't go wrong in Wales - Well actually you can - those road signs.......!
Story about a lad who's mum went mad at him cos school report said he was dyslexic...... next day his dad took him down motorway into wales.... looking at the road signs he said 'son... don't worry what ya mum says, these a flipping nation of dyslexics here!"
I take my watch off if I know I am late - - naughty I know - - great limerick Michael.
Do you put it on when you're early Fay? Oh sorry - you won't know when you're early if you don't have your watch on, Actually I think I'm losing it - thanks for commenting.
I always love your limerick. Full of humor, and always bring me smile. Thanks.
So pleased they give you a grin - must write some more.
Nice limerick Michael. Fun to read.
