Rainbow of Life.

Goldfinch60

The Rainbow entered my life

So many years ago,

She brightened my soul

With the astounding colours

That she brought to me.

As the years passed

The colours varied,

Sometimes barely there,

As the clouds of life gathered.

But the light always came back

And the brightness shone in glory,

The glory that my loved one,

Shines on me.

Together we will travel,

Travel to the end of the Rainbow.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This is for my Wonderful Wife Joyce. Her absolute favourite singer is Johnny Mathis and this song in particular says everything about my feelings for her.

A sort of eschatological (eska-tological) poem there, G/F. meaning 'end times' or 'looking towards the end times'.
Darker and lighter colours colours in the rainbow. A fine write.

Time is never ending in our lives Orchi, we remember the beginning and will be there are the end.

Thank you Goldfinch for this beautiful poem. It touched me not only because it is such tender wonderful writing, but because I can see my wife in there. You expressed very beautifully and much better than I ever could how I feel inside. For that I thank you!

Though a rainbow has no end Goldfinch, I think you found the fabled treasure we all wish for some while ago. Long may the colours radiate in your lives. Lovely writing.
